Your interface cable does not
meet both the printer and
computer specifications.
Use an interface cable that meets
both the printer and computer
specifications. See “Connecting the
Printer to Your PC” or “Connecting
the Printer to Your Macintosh” in the
Setup Guide. Also see “Interface
Specifications” in Appendix A.
The printer driver was
installed after EPSON Status
Monitor 2 was installed.
Reinstall EPSON Status Monitor 2 as
described in the Setup Guide.
Your computer’s parallel
interface does not support
bi-directional communication.
Check your computer’s manual. If
your system does not support
bi-directional communication, you
cannot use the Status Monitor 2.
The Enable bi-directional
support for this printer
option is not selected in the
Spool Settings window.
You must select Enable bi-directional
support for this printer in the Spool
Settings window to use the Status
Monitor. To access the Spool Se ttings
window, click the Start button, point
to Settings, and click Printers.
Right-click the icon for your printer
and choose Properties from the
drop-down menu. Click the Details
tab; then click Spool Settings. Select
Enable bi-directional support for
this printer.
When you clean the print head using the Head Cleaningutility, the output quality does not improve.Cause What to do
You attempted to clean the
print head while one or both
of the ink cartridges were low
or out of ink.
Check the ink out lights. If one of the
ink cartridges is low or empty, the
Head Cleaning utility has no effect.
Replace ink cartridges as needed. See
page 7-2.
