WARNING: Avoid locations that are subject to excessive heat, poor ventilation, or dust; otherwise, smoke or fire could result. Avoid locations in direct sunlight or near air conditioners. Do not block the ventilation openings. Do not place the printer on a carpet or rug, and do not cover the printer with any type of cloth when it is operating. Leave at least 12 inches between the back of the printer and the wall. Do not place the printer in an unstable location; bodily injury may occur if it falls.

Unpacking and Assembling the Printer

Follow these steps to assemble your printer and its stand. Before you begin, select an appropriate location to set up and use the printer.

Choose a flat and stable location that can support the printer’s weight (about 331 lb, without the stand).

Operate the printer under the following conditions: 50 to 95 °F (10 to 35 °C), 20 to 80% relative humidity, without condensation. In addition, make sure the environmental conditions are appropriate for the media you are using.
