Determining Default Addresses
To access the ISM switcher via the Ethernet port, you need the Extron ISM IP address. If the address has been changed to an address comprised of words and characters, the actual numeric IP address can be determined using the Ping utility. If the address has not been changed, the
Ping can also be used to test the Ethernet link to the ISM.
Pinging to determine the switcher’s IP address
The Microsoft Ping utility is available at the DOS prompt. Ping tests the Ethernet interface between the computer and the ISM. Ping can also be used to determine the actual numeric IP address from an alias and to determine the Web address.
Access the DOS prompt and ping the switcher as follows:
1. | Click Start > Run. | ||
