•Press to display the timer programme setting menu.

DVD mode

•Press up and down to change the channel.

VCR mode

•Press to change the channel up and down.

•Press to adjust the tracking during playback or in slow motion of the tape.

•While playback is in still mode, you can adjust the vertically blurred picture.

20REPEAT button (DVD)

•Press to select the repeat mode.

21SETUP button (DVD / VCR)

•Press to display the setting menu in stop mode.

22CLEAR button (DVD / VCR)

DVD mode

•Press to clear the password once entered.

•Press to cancel the programming for a disc.

•Press to clear the selecting marker number in the marker setup mode.

•Press to clear the program once entered in the timer recording setting mode.

VCR mode

• Press to reset the tape counter.

23ENTER button (DVD / VCR)

•Press to confirm or select menu items.

24RETURN R button (DVD / VCR)

•Press to return to the previously displayed menu screen.

25DVD button

•Press to activate the remote control in DVD mode. (See page 12.)

•Press to select the DVD output mode.

VCR mode

•Press to rapidly advance the video tape.

•Press to view the picture rapidly in forward during playback.

29PAUSE p button (DVD / VCR)

•Press to pause playback or recording.

30SKIP B button (DVD)

•During playback, press to skip to the previous chapter or track.

•When playback is paused, press to play reverse step by step.

SKIP F button (DVD)

•During playback, press to skip to the next chapter or track.

•When playback is paused, press to advance step by step.

31SEARCH button (VCR)

•Press to call up the index or time search menu.

32STOP S button* (DVD / VCR)

•Press to stop playing back or recording.

33AUDIO button (DVD / VCR)

DVD mode

•If you receive bilingual broadcast, or set “External input Audio” to “Bilingual,” press to change the AUDIO OUT setting “Main,” “Sub” and “Main/Sub.”

•Press to display the audio menu during playback.

•Press to select the sound mode.

VCR mode

•During playback a Hi-Fi video tape, press to change the AUDIO OUT setting “STEREO,” “LEFT,” “RIGHT,” and “MONO.” (If you receive bilingual broadcast, or set “External input Audio” to “Bilingual,” press to change the AUDIO OUT setting “Main,” “Sub,” and “Main/Sub.”)

Before you start

26REC / OTR button (DVD)

•Press once to start a recording.

•Press repeatedly to start a one-touch timer recording.

•Press to activate the remote control in DVD mode. (See page 12.)

•Press to start or resume playback.

DVD mode

•During playback, press to forward fast.

•When playback is paused, press to forward slowly.
