K. Battery Tray/Battery Installation

The IntelliFire PlusTM system has a battery backup option. Battery longevity and performance will be affected by the service temperatures of this appliance. Batteries should only be used as a power source in the event of an emer- gency such as an outage.

L. After Fireplace is Lit

Initial Break-in Procedure

The fireplace should be run three to four hours continuously on high.

Turn the fireplace off and allow it to completely cool.

Remove fixed glass assembly. See Section 14.E.

Clean fixed glass assembly. See Section 3.

Replace the fixed glass assembly and run continuously on high an additional 12 hours.

This cures the materials used to manufacture the fire- place.

NOTICE! Open windows for air circulation during fire- place break-in.

Some people may be sensitive to smoke and odors.

Smoke detectors may activate.

Condensation on the glass

This is a result of gas combustion and temperature variations. As the fireplace warms, this con-

densation will disappear.

 

Blue flames

This is a result of normal operation and the flames will begin to yellow as the fireplace is allowed

to burn for 20 to 40 minutes.

 

 

When first operated, this fireplace may release an odor for the first several hours. This is caused

by the curing of materials from manufacturing. Odor may also be released from finishing materials

and adhesives used near the fireplace. These circumstances may require additional curing related

 

 

to the installation environment.

 

 

Film on the glass

This is a normal result of the curing process of the paint. Glass should be cleaned within 3 to 4

hours of initial burning. A non-abrasive cleaner such as gas appliance glass cleaner may be neces-

 

 

sary. See your dealer.

 

Noise is caused by metal expanding and contracting as it heats up and cools down, similar to the
