Removal Installation
Use a Honda Genuine stainless steel
cotterpin and bend the pin ends as
shown. A non-stainlesssteel cotter
pin can deteriorateif used in
saltwater.
Before replacing the propeller,
remove the emergency stop switch
clip from the emergency stop switch
to prevent any possibility of the
enginebeing started while you are
working with the propeller.
The propellerblades may have sharp
edges,so wear heavy gloves to
protectyour hands.
Installthe propeller in the reverse
orderof removal.
Operatingthe outboard motor at
higher altitudes will reduce available
power. This may require decreasing
the propeller pitch to maintain correct
engineRPM.
Spare shear pins and cotter pins are
providedon theengine undercase
(p. ).
Removethe cotter pin, then remove
the propellerand shear pin.
