Sending Faxes

1Load your document (up to 20 pages) in the front

tray—top down with the printed side facing away from you. If necessary, adjust the document guides on the tray for the width of your document.

Note: Always remove staples and paper clips from your original before faxing. You can purchase scan/ copy sleeves to protect fragile or damaged originals during faxing.

2Dial the fax number.

Note: Enter all the numbers you would if you were dialing the number from a phone. For example, enter 1 and the area code for long-distance calls.

Tip! For Speed Dialing information, refer to “Speed

Dial Setup and Use” on page 14.

3Press Start to begin faxing.

To cancel a fax in progress, press Stop.

Sending a Fax Using a Calling Card (Monitor Dialing)

You can also dial the fax machine as you would a regular phone. Use this method when you need to hear a second dial tone (as when using a calling card), or if the normal dialing method does not work.

1Press Start.

2When you hear the dial tone, dial using the keypad or speed dialing. Your document will send automatically when the receiving fax answers.
