Checking the Number of Processes For Each Listener
You can use the SHOWPROC command as an alternativ e to the ANSTAT command. To display the number of processes active in eac h listener job, use the SHO WPROC command with the TREE option. The INF O string used when the process w as created is displa yed after the process name. For example:
: showproc ;job=#j22;tree |

Checking the Listener Log File
To check the listener log le, HPD ANSLG (for NS) or HPD AARLG (for ARPA), use the PRINT command. This can be done when the listener is not running or if the listener w as started with the DEBUG option. F or example:
:PRINT HPDANSLG.PUB.SYS
The listener log le sho ws the date and time when the listener w as started or restarted. It then shows the client node name of the user that has been successfully connected b y the listener and the clien t version. The clien t version indicates whether the clien t is on an MPE/iX system
The listener log le is a circular le that holds 1000 en tries. The last en try in the le is the most recent.
Here is an example of a t ypical listener log le:
MON, JUL 30, 1993. 9:01 AM: ***** ALLBASE / NET LISTENER *****
MON, JUL 30, 1993. 9:01 AM: - ALLBASE/NET LISTENER FOR ARPA IS ALREADY ACTIVE.
