Adding a User Profile

To add a user pro￿le to the NETUsers ￿le, y ou must either log on as MANA GER.SYS, have SM capability, or have AM capability for the accoun t you are working in. To add a user pro￿le to the NETUsers ￿le:

1.Invoke NETUtil.

2.Type ADD USER at the NETUtil prompt.

ADD USER prompts y ou ￿rst for the node name of the clien t at which the user is located and then prompts y ou for additional information.

3.Respond to eac h prompt as follo ws:

Client Login Name:

Enter the login name of the user on the clien t. This

 

 

name can be either a HP-UX or MPE/iX login. A

 

 

wildcard (@) can be used as the login name. This is

 

 

explained in the \NETUtil Reference" c hapter.

 

 

If the client is HP-UX, this name follo ws HP-UX

 

 

naming conventions for a login name, cannot exceed

 

 

eight characters in length, and is case-sensitiv e.

 

 

If the client is MPE/iX, this name follo ws MPE/iX

 

 

naming conventions for a logon name, a componen t

 

 

cannot exceed eigh t characters in length, and is not

 

 

case-sensitiv e. The session and logon group names are

 

 

optional. The session name is not allo wed. The group

 

 

name is required.

Server Login Name:

Enter the server login name you assigned to the user

 

 

accessing the DBEn vironment using the format:
