MIGRATE USER

Use the MIGRATE USER command to c hange all user pro￿les for a giv en client node name in the NETUsers ￿le on the serv er. To change individual user pro￿les based on clien t login name, use the CHANGE USER command.

MIGRATE USER can be abbreviated to MU. MIGRA TE USER VERBOSE can be abbreviated to MUV.

You must be logged on as MANA GER.SYS or have SM capability to execute this command.

NETUtil Syntax

netutil=> MIGRATE USER [VERBOSE]

Current Client Node Name : CurrentClientNodeName

New

Client Node Name (ClientNodeName(ARPA value)) : NewClientNodeName

Migrate All Profiles (y/n)? ￿ y2 es 3 ￿ n2 o 3

Parameters

CurrentClientNodeName

is the client name for the user pro￿le(s) y ou want to change.

NewClientNodeName

is the new client name for the user pro￿le(s) y ou want to change.

 

You should enter the ARPA host name here. The clien t node

 

name is not case-sensitiv e and is stored and displa yed exactly as

 

it was entered. If a value for (ClientNodeName(ARPA value)) is

 

displayed, you may press 4Return5 to select that value.

Description

If you execute MIGRATE USER VERBOSE, all diagnostic information written to the log ￿le will also appear on screen. See the description of the log ￿le belo w.

When all migration completes, totals for successful and unsuccessful migration attempts are displayed. Finally, you will be prompted to sa ve the migration changes.

For each changed pro￿le, a migration log ￿le, HPD AMIG.PUB.SYS, is appended to on the server and contains the following information:

a timestamp

the command name MIGRATE USER

the user name

current client node name (NS value)

new client node name (ARPA value) login client information
