ADD ALIAS

 

ServerNodeName

is the node name of the serv er you want to access. The serv er node

 

name is not case-sensitiv e and is stored and displa yed exactly as it

 

was entered. However, \node" is the same as \NODE" when the

 

SQL application is running and executes a CONNECT or ST ART

 

DBE command with an alias name. The name format is based on the

 

datacommm type.

MachineType

is the machine type of the server. Enter HP 3000 S900, HP9000 S700,

 

or HP9000 S800. A space is required bet ween HP3000 or HP9000 and

 

the series number. The machine type name is not case-sensitiv e and is

 

stored and displa yed in uppercase characters.

DatacommType

is the network service in terface you are using. The datacomm t ype

 

is either NS or ARPA. The data communication type name is not

 

case-sensitiv e and is stored and displa yed in uppercase characters. If

 

you are using HP-UX release 10.0 on either the clien t or server, ARPA

 

is the only valid entry.
