Configuring the Bootptab File

Configure the bootptab file by using the following procedure and any ASCII text editor to edit one of the files from Table 4-3.

1.Enter your IP parameters into the bootptab file for each LanProbe that you want to configure.

Use this format.

nodename:\

tag=value:\

tag=value:\

...

tag=value

The nodename is the host name of the LanProbe. The nodename can be up to 40 characters long using alpha-numerics, dashes, and dots. Do not use spaces or underscores in the nodename.

Each tag and its associated value is an IP parameter configured for a LanProbe. Valid tags are listed in Table 4-4 on page 66. You must provide a set of these tags for each LanProbe that you want to configure (some tags are optional).
