Chapter 2. First-time installations

In this chapter we discuss and describe how we install the Windows XP Professional operating system in the point-of-sale environment. We include step-by-step instructions for getting bare metal working for Windows XP systems.

We cover the case of a point-of-sale terminal build in a retail environment, where we may also have to consider special hardware configurations specific to the IBM SurePOS™ terminals.
