Password Entry
The system may be configured so that the user is required to enter a password each time
the system boots or whenever an attempt is made to enter AMIBIOS Setup. The
password function may also be disabled so that the password prompt does not appear
under any circumstances.
The Password Check option in the Advanced CMOS Setup program allows you to
specify when the password prompt displays: Always or only when Setup is attempted.
The supervisor and user passwords may be changed using the Change Supervisor
Password and Change User Password options on the AMIBIOS Setup Main Menu. If
the passwords are null, the password prompt does not display at any time. A more
detailed description of the password setup function may be found in the Running
AMIBIOS Setup section later in this chapter.
When password checking is enabled, the following password prompt displays:
Type the password and press <Enter>.

NOTE: The null password is the system default and is in effect if a password has not
been assigned or if the CMOS has been corrupted. In this case, the password prompt
does not display. To set up passwords, you may use the Change Supervisor Password
and Change User Password options on the AMIBIOS Setup Main Menu. (See Running
AMIBIOS Setup later in this chapter.)
