After any adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may result.
Before performing any maintenance, adjustments or service, ALWAYS turn the
wheelchair power off, otherwise injury or damage may result.

Removing/Installing the Contoura Back

NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 9.1onpage 49.

Removing the Contoura Back

1. Removebackcushion.
2. Removethetwomountingscrewsthatsecurethelowerfrontmountingbracketstothe
backcanes.
3. Removethefoursocketscrews,washersandlocknuts(notshown)thatsecurethefour
frontandrearmountingbrackets.
4. RemovetheContourabackandhardwarefromthebackcanes.

Installing the Contoura Back

1. Positionthefrontmountingbracketsagainstthebackcanes.
2. Securethelowerfrontmountingbracketstothebackcanesusingthetwomounting
screws.Torqu eto32inlbs±20%.
3. Insertthetaboftherearmountingbracketintotheslotinthefrontmountingbracket.
4. Securethefourrearmountingbracketstothefourfrontmountingbracketsusingthe
foursocketscrews,washersandlocknuts(notshown).To rque to75inlbs±20%.
5. Ifnecessary,tightenthesocketscrewsandlocknutssecuringthefrontmounting
bracketstotheslotintheContouraback.Torq ueto75inlbs±20%.

Removing the Mounting Hardware from the Contoura Back

1. Removethefoursocketscrews,eightwashersandfourlocknutsthatsecurethefront
mountingbrackettotheContouraback.
2. Removethehardwarefromtheback.
