Slide the hook cover plate release button q to the right, and remove the cover plate w.

Lift out the bobbin e from the bobbin holder.

Lift up the spool pin q. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin with the thread coming off the spool as shown. Attach the large spool holder w, and press it firmly against the spool of thread.
