FUNCTION SET UP
O.S.D.	With this function set to “ON,” various operational indicators (for HDD and TV tuner
	operations) appear on the TV for a while when you operate the HDD deck.

	“O.S.D.” to “OFF” before starting.
	When this function is set to “ON,” you can easily start recording the programme that you are
	watching on the TV (received by the TV itself, not through the TV tuner built in this unit) by
	pressing ¦ (record) on the unit (or by pressing 3 (SELECT) while holding REC ¦ on the
	remote control).

Setting options	•This function is possible only when a TV offering T-V Link, etc. is connected with a fully-wired 21-pin
• ON	SCART cable. (See page 11.)
•OFF	•If “DIRECT REC” is set to “OFF,” follow the procedure described in “Basic Recording” (see page 23).
	•During Direct Recording, “– –” appears in the display window.
	•If a programme is recorded with Direct Recording, the station name will not be registered for HDD
	Navigation. “– – – –” will be shown for the station name.
	•To record S-Video signals through the L-2 IN or INPUT F-1 connector, make sure that “DIRECT REC” is
	set to “OFF”; otherwise, the recorded picture will lose colour.
