B If the camcorder has an S-VIDEO output connector:

S-VIDEO input

Recorder

You can use a camcorder as the source player and your unit as the recording deck.

Slide the TV/S-VHS/DVDswitch to the right.

A Make connections.

AIf the camcorder has no S-VIDEO output connector:

connect the camcorder’s AUDIO OUT and VIDEO OUT connectors to the unit’s front panel AUDIO and VIDEO input connectors.

BIf the camcorder has an S-VIDEO output connector:

connect the camcorder’s AUDIO OUT and

S-VIDEO OUT connectors to the unit’s front panel AUDIO and S-VIDEO input connectors.

When using a monaural camcorder, connect its AUDIO OUT connector to the AUDIO L input connector on your unit.

When a Master Edit Control-equipped JVC camcorder is used, the camcorder is capable of controlling the unit. Refer to the camcorder’s instruction manual for operating procedure.

B Select the S-VHS deck.

On the unit

Press S-VHS/DVDrepeatedly so that the S-VHS indicator lights up.

On the remote control

Press S-VHSso that the S-VHS indicator lights up.

C Set the unit’s input mode.

Press AUX (number key “0”) and/or PR to select “F-1” for the AUDIO and VIDEO input connectors, or “S-1” for the AUDIO and S-VIDEO input connectors, depending on the connectors being used.

D Set the edit mode.

See “PICTURE CONTROL” on page 77.

E Start the camcorder.

Engage the Play mode of the camcorder.

F Start the unit.

Engage the Record mode of the unit.

NOTES:

All necessary cables can be obtained from your dealer.

When you select “EDIT” to dub tapes in step D, be sure to select “AUTO” (or “NORM” when “B.E.S.T.” is set to “OFF”) after you finish dubbing the tapes.

IMPORTANT

To edit, both the player and the recorder must be of the same

colour system. Select the appropriate colour system. ( pg. 77,

78)

PAL, SECAM and NTSC camcorders can be used as a player for

editing.
