Mark the buttonhole position carefully on the fabric. Place
the fabric behind the machine; insert the fabric between the
guide plate and the buttonhole foot as illustrated, Align the
marked buttonhole (_ with the center marking on the
buttonhole foot®, Line upthe fabric edge with the
measure marking on the guide piate(3_just in front of the
buttonhole foot as shown., Pierce the fabric with the needle
atthe beginning of the buttonhole.
NOTE:
Ifyou want buttonholes to be sewn at 1/2" (1.2 cm) from
the fabric edge, line up the fabric with the I/2" marking or
the guide plate each time you start to sew abuttonhole.
interfacing is recommended when making buttonholes. If
fabric doesnot feed smoothly from the start, increase the
stitch length.
Lower the buttonhole foot Start sewing slowly. Allow the
machine to do the work by itseff, ie, do not try toguide
fabric.. Stop sewing when the needle returns to its original
position, To release the buttonhole base plate, pull the lever
toward you andlift the base plate off the machine.
