Care of Your Machine
CAUTION:
Before performing any of the following, make sure
that thesewing machine isunplugged from the
power source.
The Kenmore 19000 hasbeen specifically designed and
manufactured to give you a lifetime of trouble-ftee
sewing. The bobbin area and hook race should be
cleaned after completion ofevery garment. Do not
store the machine ina high-humidity area, near aheat
radiator or in direct sunlight. Clean the outside ofthe
machine witha soft cloth and neutral soap. Pressthe
up/down needle button toraise the needle and unplug
the machine before cleaning.
• Cleaning the Bobbin Holder
Loose threads and dust may cause puckered stitches
and thread breakage during stitching. Check for lint
build-up aftereach garment iscompleted.
Turn off the power switch and unplug the machine.
• Remove the coverplate by sliding the hook cover
plate release button to the right.
• Take out the bobbin to brush out dust and lint.
(You may also use a small vacuum cleaner.)
• Insert the bobbin and attach the hook cover plate.
•Exposing the Hook Race
• Unplug the machine and remove the presser foot
and needle.
• Remove the screwon the lefx sideof the needle
plate with the screwdriver.
• Remove the needle plate and take out the bobbin.
• Liftup the bobbin holder and remove it.
