Using the Manual Mode Menu (Cont’d)

Changing slow shutter speed

-Slow shutter speed can be changed according to the flash mode.

-Shutter speed will become slow when taking photographs in dark places, so please use a tripod to prevent movement during exposure.

1.To change the slow shutter speed when

the flash mode is set to AUTO or

FLASH ON (), select “SLOW SHUTTER”.

The current setting is displayed.

See the explanation below (*) for more details of the shutter speeds displayed.

To change the slow shutter speed when the flash mode is set to OFF (), select “SLOW SHUTTER”.

The current setting is displayed.

“1/8” seconds is displayed as the default setting.

2. Use the or buttons to select the shutter speed.

Press the SET/DISP. button to complete the setting and return the camera to shooting mode.

*Slow shutter speed display

Shutter speeds for SLOW SHUTTER are only displayed when wide-angle (W) is selected in the settings screen. The table below shows the corresponding shutter

speeds for telephoto (T). The default speed displayed for wide angle (W) is 1/60 seconds.

Note also that the shutter speed does not change for each focal distance when SLOW SHUTTER is selected.
