Note: Make sure a toner cartridge is installed and the cover closes all the way, engaging the cover open switch lever. The lever can easily be positioned incorrectly if the top cover has been removed and replaced.

Make sure the cover open switch

cable is properly seated in CN2 of

 

the HVPS. Disconnect the cable and

 

check the switch for continuity. Push

 

the cover open switch lever down to

 

engage the switch and close the

 

circuit. If the circuit does not close,

 

replace the switch.

 

 

Model E310

Measure the voltage at CN2-3 of the

HVPS

HVPS. It measures +24 V dc. If

Engine/LVPS Board

voltage is present at CN2-3, check

 

for continuity between CN2-1 and

 

CN1-2. If continuity does not exist,

 

replace the HVPS. If continuity does

 

exist, check the HVPS to engine/

 

LVPS board cable for continuity.

 

Replace if defective. If voltage is not

 

present at CN2-3, check the voltage

 

at CN1-1. It measures +24 V dc. If it

 

does, replace the HVPS. If it does

 

not, check the voltage at CN2-2 of

 

the engine/LVPS board. It measures

 

+24 V dc. If it does, replace the

 

HVPS to engine/LVPS board cable.
