meter ID. A unique serial number that is stored in the memory of each OneTouch® Meter. The Software retrieves the meter ID number when transferring meter readings so that it can keep track of the meter from which the data originated.

microalbumin. A measure of the amount of protein that is leaking into the urine. The presence of microalbumin in the urine may be a sign of kidney damage.

nephropathic complication. Any complication that involves the kidneys.

neuropathic complication. Any complication that involves the nervous system.

omit. Marks a data record for “omission” from calculations and Reports. The record remains in the database and may be re-included for future analyses using the “Restore” button.

OneTouchInterface Cable. A cable used to connect a PC to your OneTouch® Meter.

patient. The standard data record in the OneTouch® DMS database.

peripheral vascular complication. Any complication that involves the capillaries or other small blood vessels.

Preferences. Settings that let you customize how you use and interact with the Software. Preferences are set in the Preferences screen.

Pie Chart Report. A OneTouch® DMS Report that displays pie charts of the percentage of within-target and out-of-target glucose readings over a particular Date Range.

plasma reading. A glucose measurement from only the plasma portion of a whole blood sample.

readings. One or more glucose level measurements recorded by the meter.

regimen. The daily schedule of insulin injections. OneTouch® DMS lets you define up to five insulin regimens for each patient.

retinopathic complication. Any complication that involves the retina and other areas of the eye.

RS-232.An interface standard for connecting serial devices to your PC. The data communication mode must be set to “RS-232,” when using a OneTouch® II Meter with the OneTouch® DMS. All other OneTouch® Meters are already pre-set to communicate using a RS-232 interface.
