Local Vs Remote Viewing

Local viewing is useful if you wish to monitor your system within an internal network (i.e. inside your home). Connecting locally usually results in smoother video because you are connecting to your DVR locally, as opposed to remotely. An Internet connection is not required for local viewing.

Remote viewing allows you to connect to your system from anywhere that has Internet access. An Internet connection is required for remote viewing.
