Appendix B: Connecting Motion / Alarm Devices

+

Installing a Sensor on EDGE series

You can connect external alarm input and alarm output devices to the system (i.e. motion sensors, door/window sensors). Use a motion detector or sensor to send a signal to the system to begin camera viewing and recording on the matching camera channel (when enabled in the Menu); simultaneously, the system sends an output signal to a device such as an alarm or siren.

To connect an Alarm INPUT device to the system:

1.Connect the Signal Cable to the desired Channel number in the alarm block (I1 = Input 1, I2= Input 2 etc).

2.Connect the Ground cable to the Ground port (G) in the alarm block.

NOTE: The alarm block connectors are "push-type"connectors.Toinsertawire,pushthe plastic tab with a small, rigid object, and simultaneously insert the wire.To release the wire, pushtheplastictabandsimultaneouslypull the wire out.

To connect an Alarm OUTPUT device to the system:

To ground multiple alarm input devices, "piggyback" the wires into the G (ground) port.

1.Connect the ground cable to the COM port.

2.Connect the signal cable to the NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) port.

To configure alarm in devices:

1.From the Main Menu, click to open the Alarm menu.

2.Use the Alarm Input & Output menu to configure alarm trigger settings.
