Next follows the Named Constants section, which is of greater interest. Note that the page dimensions are
given as 11 inches high by 8.5 inches wide. If you use a different paper format, such as A4, you may wish to
change these to your format, but corresponding changes will also need to b e m ade in th e s e r ver setup .
Also note, for example, that the logo (your comp any name) st arts at two inch es fro m t he t op of the p age and
that two font sizes are used for the logo, one of 26 points and one of 14 points (a point is about one seventy-
second of an inch.) The Program section contains definitions for WriteFixedInfo and WriteVariableInfo. Note
the repeated WriteRightJust ified and WriteH eader Text (with co mmen ts indicatin g the text they relate to.) If
you wish to c h ange the n umber o f lines in th a t section o f the co versheet, you will ne e d to ch ange the number
of repetitions acco rdingly.
Also of interest is the /Times-Roman which indicates the name of the font. This may be changed to a
different fon t t o change the appearan ce of the coversheet , b ut make sure the f o n t name is s p elled exactly right
and tha t it is a font that will be recognized bo th on the clien t side and the ser ver side. (File
fax$ps_dir:fontmap gives information about valid fonts on the server.)
A further point of interest is the StackReverseEntries command. To oversimplify things somewhat, you could
say that PostScript writes pages from the bottom up, while we read from the top down. In order to make the
layout of the con figu ra tio n file loo k mo r e lo gical, we wr ite th e lin es in t h e o rd er in whic h t h ey will ap pe ar o n
the page and reverse their order before we give them to PostScript.
It is recommen d ed that coversheet ch anges be limited to:
Change in text for header, company name, a ddress a nd phone num bers
Change in text of prompts
Change in number of lines in fixed and/ or variable section ( not recom m ended)
Change in font sizes
Change in justification (left, right, center) or line/ c olum n pos itioning
Change in paper size (chang e on s e rver side also)
Change in typeface (but go easy on this.)
