1.2.5 Multiple Systems

The CompuFax software is shipped as a saveset on tape. If you plan to load the software on multiple systems,
you may find t h e in st allat io n w ill pr o ceed fas ter if th e saveset is copied from the dist ribut ion med ia to disk,
moved to the designated systems and then installed from disk. For multiple systems follow the steps listed
here:
Create a temporary target d irectory in which to load t h e files:

$ CREATE/ D I RECTORY target- d irect ory
Move to the target direct ory you just created:
$ SET DEFAULT target-directory
Mount the tape drive unit for reading:
$ MOUNT tape-drive: NDC
Move the savesets from tape to disk using the command below. Substitute the correct product name;
FAX031.A for a VAX system o r FAX_AXP031.A for a n Alp ha AXP system.
$ COPY tape-drive:product [ ]
1.3 Software Installation

1.3.1 Evaluation Without Modem

If you are planning only to evaluate the product without the use of a modem device or any fax hardware,
please install the product as indicated in the procedure below and enter 'No' when prompted for the modem.
CompuF ax will auto matically con figure t he soft ware accordin gly for a null device. Then, proceed t o the
section entitled Section 1.4.2.
