Shooting Subjects Not Suitable for Autofocus

When shooting a subject that is not suitable for autofocus (A29), try pressing the shutter-release button halfway to refocus several times, or try the following techniques.

1Switch to A(auto) mode (A37) and select Touch AF/AE (A38) for the touch shooting setting.

3Press the shutter-release button halfway.

•The camera focuses on the subject

and the focus area glows green.

• Exposure is locked for the subject

4Continue holding down the shutter- release button halfway and recompose the picture.

• Be sure to maintain the same distance between the camera and the subject while the shutter-release button is pressed halfway.

5Press the shutter-release button the rest of the way down to take the

picture.
