Legal limitationsColour reproductions of certain documents are illegal and may result
in either criminal or civil liability. This memorandum is intended to be
a guide rather t han a complete lis ting of every possi ble prohibition. In
case of doubt, we sugges t that you check with rele vant authorities as
to any particular ques tionable documents.
The following are exa mples of documents which should not be
copied:
■Paper money
■Bonds or other certificates of indebtedness
■Certificates of Deposit
■Armed Forces Servic e or Draft papers.
■Passports
■Postage Stamps (canc elled or uncancelled)
■Immigration Papers
■Welfare documents
■Cheques or Drafts draw n by Governmental Agencies
■Identification Do cuments, badges or insignias
■Licences and Certificates of Title to motor vehicles
Copyrighted wor ks cannot be copied. Sections of a co pyrighted work
can be copied for ‘fair use’. Multiple copies would indica te improper
use.
Works of art should be c onsidered the equivalent of copyr ighted
works.
