13 - 24 TROUBLESHOOTING AND ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

■Brother multifunction machines are designed to work with ink of

a particular specification and work to a level of optimum

performance when used w ith genuine Brother ink cartridg es.

Brother cannot g uarantee this optimum per formance if ink or ink

cartridges of other s pecifications are used. Brothe r does not

therefore recommend the use of cartridges other than genuine

Brother cartridges with this machine or the refilling of empty

cartridges with i nk from other sour ces. If damage i s caused to the

print head or othe r parts of this machine as a r esult of the use of

ink or ink cartridges ot her than genuine Brother product s due to

the incompatibility or lack of suitability of those products with this

machine, any repairs required as a result will not be covered by

the warranty.

If the Ink Empty message is on the display after you have

installed ink cartri dges, check that the ink cartri dges are

installed properly.
