Operation from extension telephones

If you answer a fax cal l on an extension telephone, or an external
telephone, you can m ake your machine take t he call by using the Fa x
Receive Code. When you press the Fax Receive Code 51, the
machine starts to rec eive a fax. (See Fax Detect on page 5-5.)
If the machine answer s a voice call and pseudo/dou ble-rings for you
to take over, use the Tel ephone Answer Code #51 to take the call at
an extension phone. (See Setting the F/T Ring Time (Fax/Tel mode
only) on page 5-4.)
If you answer a call and no one is on t he line, you should a ssume that
you’re receiving a ma nual fax.
Press 51 and wait for the chirp or until the machine’s LCD
displays Receiving, and then hang up.
Your caller will have to press Start to send the fax.

For Fax/Tel mode only

When the machine is in Fax/Tel mode, it will use the F/T Ring Time
(pseudo/double-r inging) to alert you to pick up a voic e call.
If you're at the machine, you can lift the handset to answer.
Lift the external tel ephone's handset, and then press Tel/R to
answer.
If you’re at an extens ion phone, you’ll need to lift t he handset during
the F/T Ring Time and th en press #51 between the pseudo/double
rings. If no on e is on the line, or if s omeone wants to send y ou a fax,
send the call back to the machine by pressing 51.
