User-friendly programming

Your machine is designed to be easy to use with LCD on-screen
programming using t he navigation keys. User-fr iendly programming
helps you take full ad vantage of all the menu selection s your
machine has to offer.
Since your programming is done on the LCD, we have created
step-by-step on-screen instructions to help you program your
machine. All you need to do is follow the instruction s as they guide
you through the menu se lections and programming options.

Menu table

You can probably pr ogram your machine without the User’s Guide if
you use the Menu table that begins on page 3-3. These pages will
help you understand t he menu selections and options that are found
in the machine’s prog rams.

Memory storage

If there is a power failure, you will not lose your menu settings
because they are store d permanently. Temporary settings (such as
Contrast, Overseas Mode, and so on) will be lost. You may also have
to reset the date and time.
On-screen programming
You can program your machine by pressing Menu/Set,
followed by the menu numbers.
For example to set Fax Resolution to Fine:
Press Menu/Set, 2, 2, 2 and or to select Fine.
Press Menu/Set.
