Chapter 1Preparation — Precautions for use

rProjection Lens

Be sure to use the standard zoom lens (for high brightness) supplied with the projector or the specified Projection Lens (optional). The standard zoom lens supplied with PT‑EZ570 series, PT‑EW630 series, PT‑EW530 series, PT‑EX600 series, PT‑EX500 series is different from the lens of this projector. Using it may result in malfunction or damage. Do not use it.

The standard zoom lens supplied with the projector is for high brightness, and "Standard Lens for HighBrightness" is indicated on the lens.

rrFocus adjustment

The projection lens is thermally affected by the light from the light source, making the focus unstable in the period just after switching on the power. Before adjusting the lens focus, wait at least 30 minutes with the image projected.

rrDo not install the projector at elevations of 2 700 m (8 858') or higher above sea level.

Doing so may shorten the life of the components and result in malfunctions.

rrDo not use the projector tilted to the right or left.

Using the projector at a vertical angle that exceeds 15° may reduce product life or result in malfunction.

rrCautions when setting up the projector

ffWhen installing and using the projector with a method other than the floor standing installation using the adjustable feet, fix the projector using the four holes (the upper left, the upper right, the lower left and one of two lower right holes) for ceiling mount (as shown in the figure).

(Screw diameter: M6, tapping depth inside the set: 12 mm (15/32"), torque: 4 ± 0.5 N·m)

Prevent a gap forming between the setting surface and the screw holes for ceiling mount on the projector bottom, for example, by inserting spacers (metallic) between them.

ffUse the adjustable feet only for the floor standing installation and for adjusting the angle. Using them for other purposes may damage the projector.

ffDo not stack projectors on top of each other.

ffDo not use the projector supporting it by the top.

ffDo not use the projector tilted at an angle that exceeds ±15° from the horizontal plane. ffDo not block the ventilation ports (intake and exhaust) of the projector.
