Resetting the machine to the default factory settings

I can not switch off the

DVD

bRecorder in initial installation mode: Switch on the TV, switch over to the DVD recorder socket.

Now the menu for language selection should appear. Please read paragraph 'Initial Installation' in the chapter 'Installing your DVD Recorder'.

b'Key lock' is switched on: All buttons on the front of the set are locked. Switch off the function:

1Pull out the mains plug from the wall outlet.

2Press and hold down h and OPEN/CLOSE J 3 and put back the mains plug into the wall outlet.

3As soon as the time or '--:--' appears in the display (ca. 6 - 10 seconds), release h and OPEN/CLOSE J 3 .

bThere is no power supply: check the power supply

bThere is a technical problem: disconnect from the mains power supply for 30 seconds, then connect again. If this doesn't help, you can reset your DVD recorder to the default factory settings.

bImportant:

All the information stored (TV channels, time and date, TIMER) will be lost.

1Disconnect from the mains power supply.

2Press and hold down the STANDBY-ONm 1 button on the device and reconnect to the mains power supply.

3Release the STANDBY-ONm 1 button when the features appears on the display. The machine is resetted.

Please read paragraph 'Initial Installation' in the chapter 'Installing your DVD Recorder'.

bRemote control not pointed toward the DVD recorder: Point the remote control at the machine. See if the 'o(((' appears on the display briefly each time you press a remote control button. If it does, the Recorder is receiving information from the remote correctly.

bThere is a technical problem: Take out the batteries, wait for 10 seconds and put them in again.

bBatteries are flat: Change the batteries.

bA recording is in progress (red light around the REC/OTR n 1 button is switched on). After the recording is finished, the DVD-recorder will switch off automatically.

bIf a movie is played automatically, the demo feature is switched on. To switch off the demo, proceed as follows:

1Press DISC MENU B and then SYSTEM MENU A (call up system menu of the disk).

2 Select the 'A' symbol with D K and then ' ' using B O .

3Confirm with C M .

4Select 'Standby' with B O and confirm with C M

5Select 'Low power' or 'Normal' using A I , B O .

6 Press OK L to confirm and SYSTEM MENU A to end.
