Using other functions

Setting the AV options

There are a number of additional sound and picture settings you can make using the AV Parameter menu. The defaults, if not stated, are listed in bold.

•Note that if a setting doesn’t appear in the AV Parameter menu, it is unavailable due to the current source, settings and status of the receiver.

1 Press AV PARAMETER.

Setting	What it does	Option(s)
Center	Adjusts the center image to create a	0 to 10
Imageb	wider stereo effect with vocals.	Default: 3
(Applicable	Adjust the effect from 0 (all center
only when	channel sent to front right and left
usingacenter	speakers) to 10 (center channel sent
speaker)	to the center speaker only).
Effect	Sets the effect level for the currently	10 to 90
	selected Advanced Surround mode
	(each mode can be set separately).

Depending on the current status / mode of the receiver, certain options may not be able to be selected. Check the table below for notes on this.

3 Use to set it as necessary.

4 Press RETURN to confirm and exit the menu.

Midnight	Allows you to hear effective surround	MID/LDN OFF
	sound of movies at low volumes.
		MIDNIGHT ON
Loudness	Used to get good bass and treble
	from music sources at low volumes. LOUDNESS ON
Tone	Applies the treble and bass tone	BYPASS
control	controls to a source, or bypasses

Bass	Adjusts the amount of bass.	–6 to +6 (dB)
		default: 0 (dB)
Treble	Adjusts the amount of treble.	–6 to +6 (dB)
		default: 0 (dB)
Center	Provides a better blend of the front	0 to 7
Widtha	speakers by spreading the center	Default: 3
(Applicable	channel between the front right and
only when	left speakers, making it sound wider
usingacenter	(higher settings) or narrower (lower

Dimensionb	Adjusts the depth of the surround	–3 to +3
