CHAT ROOMS
Chat rooms are forums for “live” discussions. Messages you send to a chat room are read immediately by everyone in that room. You can join existing chat rooms or create your own chat rooms.
To enter a chat room and join the conversation:
1From Web Home, select Community, then press OK or RETURN.
2Select Chat, then press OK or RETURN.
The first time you enter Chat, you‘ll see an introduction to Chat. When you complete the introduction, you’ll see the Chat screen.
The Chat screen presents a few featured Chat rooms and Talk City, a chat site offering dozens of chat rooms.
3Select a chat topic or Talk City, then press OK or RETURN.
Talk City lets you choose from a large list of topics, or search for a chat room about a topic.

4To enter a listed chat room, select it and press OK or RETURN.
To search for a chat room, type a topic in the search box, then press OK or RETURN. Then select a chat room from the list of search results and press OK or RETURN.
Once you are in a chat room, you will see an ongoing discussion on the screen. Comments are appended to the bottom of the screen as people type them. The text will scroll as people enter more comments. To move up and down through the list of comments, use the scroll buttons on your remote control or keyboard.
5To enter a comment of your own, type your message with the keyboard or remote control, then select Send from the bottom of the screen and press OK or RETURN.
MAKING SIDE COMMENTS: “WHISPERING”
Once you’re in a chat room, if you would like to send a comment to one person without letting anyone else in the room see your comment, you can “whisper” to that person.
To “whisper” to another person:
1Starting from inside a chat room, select Whisper from the left side of the screen, then press OK or RETURN.
A list of the people in the chat room appears on the left side of the screen.
2Select the person you want to whisper to.
3Type your message in the box to the right.
4Select Whisper message, then press OK or RETURN.
You can tell when someone whispers to you because their comment starts with the words “to you.”
