Enhancements related to operation

Shift Lock on/off ([SHIFT]+[YES])

It is now possible to control the Shift Lock switch (which temporarily keeps [SHIFT] activated while it is not actually pressed) without opening the System Parameter window (VS-1680 Owner’s Manual, p. 187).

1.Press [PLAY (DISPLAY)].

2.Hold down [SHIFT] and press [YES].

3.Thereafter, each time you hold down [SHIFT] and press [YES], Shift Lock can be toggled on/off.

MEMO

When Shift Lock is OFF, the SHIFT indicator will light only while you continue pressing [SHIFT]. When Shift Lock is ON, the SHIFT indicator will light, or go out each time you press [SHIFT]. [SHIFT] is active when the SHIFT indicator is lit.

Removing direct current offset from the mix bus

Direct current offset on the mix bus can be removed. For example, in some cases the level meters of a device (mixer etc.) connected to the output of the VS-1680 may move even though no sound is being output. This is caused by a direct current offset on the mix bus (MASTER output, etc.). This component can be removed.

1.Press [PLAY (DISPLAY)].

2.Hold down [SHIFT] and press [F5 (SYSTEM)].

3.Make sure that the System menu is displayed. If not, press [F6 (EXIT)].

4.Press [PAGE] so that [F2] indicates “GLOBL,” and then press [F2 (GLOBL)].

5.Use [][][ ][ ] to move the cursor to “DC Cut,” and use the TIME/VALUE dial to make the setting.

If “DC Cut” is not shown, press [F2 (Prm2)], and use the TIME/VALUE dial to make the setting.

When this is turned “On,” any direct current offset on the mix bus will be removed before output.

6.Press [PLAY (DISPLAY)].
