TTY UseWith Sprint PCS Service
A TTY (also known as a TDD or TextTelephone) is a
telecommunications device thatallows people who are deaf
or hard of hearing, or who have speech or language
disabilities, to communicate by telephone.
Your phone is compatible with selectTTY devices. Please check
with the manufacturer of your TTY device to ensure thatit
supports digital wireless transmission. Your phone and TTY
device will connectvia a special cable that plugs into your
phone’s headsetjack. If this cable was notprovided with your
TTY device, contactyour TTY device manufacturer to purchase
the connector cable.
When establishing your SprintPCS Service, please call Sprint
CustomerService via the state Telecommunications Relay
Service (TRS) by firstdialing . Then
provide the state TRS with this number: 866-727-4889.
To turn TTYmode on or off:
1. Press to access the main menu.
2. SelectSettings and press .
3. SelectOthers and press .
4. SelectTTY and press . (You will see a message on the
display.)
5. Press or OK(leftsoftkey) to continue.
6. SelectEnable or Disableand press .
Note:When you connectTTY devices, your phone will display the icon in
TTY mode. If TTY mode is enabled, the audio quality of non-TTY devices
connected to the headsetjack may be impaired.
