HSleep operation
The radio, compact disc and MiniDisc can all be turned off automatically.
1Play the desired sound source.
2Press the TIMER/DELETE button, and then press the or button so
that the SLEEP display and setting time appear.
3Within 10 seconds, press the ENTER button.
IIf you wish to use the displayed time, press the ENTER button.
To change the sleep timer:
4Set the sleep time using the 1 or 0 button.
IThe setting time is changed in 5-minute increments between 2 hours
and 5 minutes, or 1 minute increments between 5 minutes and 1 minute.
5Press the ENTER button.
IThe sleep operation will start.
IWhen it is one minute before the programmed sleep time, the volume
will be reduced gradually. During this period, you cannot change the
volume.
6The unit will be turned off automatically after the preset sleep time has
elapsed.
Notes:
IOnce the sleep time is set, it will remain the same until the setting is
changed.
IThis sleep functions of this unit cannot be used to control equipment
connected to this unit. You must use the sleep functions of the other
equipment, if it has them.
To confirm the sleep timer setting:
1Press the TIMER/DELETE button.
2Press the or button so that the SLEEP display and setting time
appear.
To cancel the sleep operation:
If the power is turned off, the sleep operation will be canceled.
The timer operation can also be canceled as follows if the power cannot be
turned off during recording.
1Press the TIMER/DELETE button.
2Press the or button so that the SLEEP OFF display appears.
3Within 10 seconds, press the ENTER button.
IThe sleep operation will be canceled. ("SLEEP" will go off.)

HSimultaneous sleep and timer operation
1Play the desired item (compact disc, MiniDisc, etc.).
2Set the sleep timer.
3Set timer playback.
IWhen the preset sleep time has elapsed, the power will be automatically
turned off. When the timer start time is reached, the power will be turned
on again.
