Il est possible d’assembler les coutures dans les tricots et tissus extensibles tout en leur donnant simultanément une finition. Deux méthodes existent à cet effet. On recommande la 1re méthode pour les tissus fermes pour lesquels une valeur de couture de 6mm (1/4 pouce) est suffisante. On recommande la 2e méthode pour les tricots épais et tissus qui ont tendance à rouler ou à s’effilocher et qui requièrent une valeur de couture plus large pour supporter les

10.Lower needle threader lever slightly down and pass the thread through the guide as shown in the illustration 8. Continue lowering the lever until hook passes inside the needle eye.

11.Insert thread in the hook slot and lead it slightly up (illustration 9).

12.Loosen the lever slightly and the thread will pass through the needle eye automaticaly.

13.The thread will produce a loop. Pull loop about 4”, opening it with your fingers.

Note: We recommend to set machine for straight stitch, the needle in the center and in its highest position, and the presser foot lowered to make this operation easier.

1re méthode - Surjet

1.Taillez et ajustez le vêtement, tout en allouant 1,6cm (5/8 pouce) pour la valeur de couture. Faufilez la ligne de couture.

2.Rognez la lisière de la couture également à 6mm (1/4 pouce) à peine de la couture faufilée.

3.Placez la couture sous le pied presseur de sorte que les points droits tombent sur le faufilage et les points zig-zags vers la lisière de la couture 1 ainsi qu’illustré.

2e méthode - Imitation de surjet

1.Taillez et ajustez le vêtement, tout en allouant 1,6cm (5/8 pouce) pour la valeur de couture. Faufilez la ligne de couture.

2.Place la couture sous le pied presseur de sorte que les points droits tombent sur le faufilage et les points zig-zags vers la lisière de la couture 2.

3.Pressez après avoir fini la couture et rognez le surplus de tissu afin d’obtenir une lisière de couture étroite. Lorsque la couture supporte le vêtement, ne rognez pas la lisière.
