Playing back a tape

To monitor the high-speed picture while advancing or rewinding the tape (skip scan)

Keep pressing m while rewinding or M while advancing the tape. To resume rewinding or advancing, release the button.

To view the picture at slow speed (slow playback)

Press y on the Remote Commander during playback. To resume normal playback, press N.

In the various playback modes

Sound is muted.

When the playback pause mode lasts for 5 minutes

Your camcorder automatically enters the stop mode. To resume playback, press N.

If slow playback lasts for about 1 minute (CCD-TR427E/TR617E/TR717E/TR918E only) Your camcorder automatically returns to normal speed.

When you play back a tape recorded (CCD-TR417E/TR427E/TR617E/TR717E only) Noise may appear during playback pause mode, slow playback (CCD-TR427E/TR617E/TR717E/ only) or picture search.

When you play back a tape in reverse Horizontal noise appears at the center or top and bottom of the screen. This is normal.

The tapes recorded in the Hi8 format (CCD-TR417E/TR427E/TR617E only)

You can play back the tapes recorded in the Hi8 video system on your camcorder.
