To set up the hardware
1Connect the VCS private Ethernet controllers.
Perform the following tasks as necessary:
When you add nodes to a two-node cluster, use independent switches or
hubs for the private network connections. You can only use crossover
cablesfor a two-node cluster, so you might have to swap out the cable for
a switch or hub.
Ifyou already use independent hubs, connect the two Ethernet controllers
on the new node to the independent hubs.
Figure7-1 illustrates a new node being added to an existing two-node cluster
using two independent hubs.
2Connect the system to the shared storage, if required.
Preparing for a manual installation when adding a node
Before you install, log in as the superuser. You then mount the disc and put the
files in a temporary folder for installation.
