Shooting with the Self-timer

When you use the self-timer, a shot will be taken automatically after a set delay (10
seconds or 2 seconds). This setting reverts to off when you turn the camera off or the Auto
power off function is activated.

• Using the [2 SEC.] self-timer delay is an effective way to avoid camera shake
when you are shooting still images.

• In self-timer shooting, when you press the REC button or REC button, a
timer on the screen starts counting down and the front LED starts flashing. Once
the selected delay (10 seconds or 2 seconds) has elapsed, the camera starts
shooting or takes the picture.
• The self-timer can also be used in continuous recording and AEB. With the self-
timer, the number of continuous recordings taken is 3.

• You can take as many shots as you like with the same self-timer delay until you
either change the self-timer delay setting or turn the camera off.
1From the recording menu, use the jog dial to select [SELF-

TIMER] and press the OK button.

2Use the jog dial to select the self-timer delay and press the
OK button.
The selected delay is set and the recording menu
reappears.
To cancel the setting, press the MENU button.
OFF :The self-timer is not used.
10 SEC.:Shooting begins or the picture is taken
approximately 10 seconds after you press the
REC button or REC button.
2 SEC. : Shooting begins or the picture is taken
approximately 2 seconds after you press the
REC button or REC button.
