Settings for Connecting the Camera Directly to a DVD Recorder with DVR via a LAN Cable
CAMERA NAME
:Enter the name used to identify the camera on the network. You can enter any name you like, or you can simply use the default name. The name can consist of up to 15
GROUP NAME
:Enter the name given as the “GROUP NAME” for the DVD recorder with DVR. To find the “GROUP NAME” for the DVD recorder with DVR, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the DVD recorder with DVR. (The name for “GROUP NAME” may differ depending on the recorder used.)
Because the password field is blank by default, you must enter a password. The password can consist of up to 16
PASSWORD
:Enter the name given as the “GROUP PASSWORD” for the DVD recorder with DVR. To find the “GROUP PASSWORD” for the DVD recorder with DVR, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the DVD recorder with DVR. (The name for “GROUP PASSWORD” may differ depending on the recorder used.)

IP ADDRESS
:Set a different address within the same subnet as the DVD recorder with DVR.
E.g. Where the DVD recorder with DVR address is 192.168.1.10, the camera address can be 192.168.1.15 or 192.168.1.20, etc.
Ensure that you do not set the same IP address as the DVD recorder with DVR.
NETMASK : Set the subnet mask for the connected network. 255.255.255.0 (recommended)
ROUTER : Any

•Toshiba recommends that you take the following minimum general security precautions in connection with choosing a GROUP NAME and PASSWORD when connecting the camera to a DVD recorder with DVR:
•Choose a unique GROUP NAME and PASSWORD that would be difficult for someone else to guess (e.g., do not use the same PASSWORD that you use for your email account, router, etc.).
•Do not share your GROUP NAME and PASSWORD with anyone.
On some models of Toshiba DVD recorder with DVR, “TOSHIBA”
