Communications

Modem

An internal modem provides capability for data

 

and fax communication. It supports the V.90 or

 

V.92 standards depending on the region and

 

provides a modem jack for connection to a

 

telephone line. The speed of data and fax transfer

 

depends on the analog telephone line conditions.

 

 

LAN

The computer has built-in support for Ethernet

 

LAN (10 megabits per second, 10BASE-T) and

 

Fast Ethernet LAN (100 Mbps 100BASE-TX)

 

 

Wireless LAN

Some computers in this series are equipped with

 

a wireless LAN mini-PCI card that is compatible

 

with other systems that support the 802.11a/g

 

wireless communications standards. It offers

 

frequency selection between 2.4GHz or 5GHz

 

and allows roaming over multiple channels.

 

 

Bluetooth

Some computers in this series are equipped with

 

Bluetooth functionality.

 

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology

 

used to create PANs (Personal Area Networks)

 

among your devices, and with other nearby

 

devices like mobile computers, mobile phones,

 

and digital cameras.

Security Lock Slot

 

 

 

 

Receives an optional security lock in order to

 

anchor the computer to a desk or other large,
