9.1.1 Firmware Development
It is important to upgrade your firmware regularly, especially if there are problems. If you discover an unexpected behavior, or bug, see if your problem is mentioned in the release notes. Load it according to instructions (e.g., see if the default configuration file is needed also). If the problem still exists,
9.2Backup Configuration
Option 5 from Menu 24 – System Maintenance allows you to backup the current Prestige configuration to your workstation. Backup is highly recommended once your Prestige is functioning properly. FTP and TFTP are the preferred methods for backing up your current workstation configuration to your computer since FTP and TFTP are faster. You can also perform backup and restore using menu 24 through the console port. Any serial communications program should work fine; however, you must use XMODEM protocol to perform the download/upload and you don’t have to rename the files (see section 9.1).
Please note that terms “download” and “upload” are relative to the workstation. Download means to transfer from the Prestige to the workstation, while upload means from your workstation to the Prestige.
The following screen is what you see in Menu 24.5 when connected to the Prestige via console port.
