Appendix J Troubleshooting

J.10.7 Configuration Center Management

Dspcd command output from the switch for the controller card and the service module where this error is detected.

Ddspln or dspport command output, if this error seen for a line or port.

Possible alternative workaround—None.

J.10.7.2.2 SNMP No Data Error

An SNMP NO DATA error is seen while launching the Configuration Center (either by the drag-and-drop method or the right-click method) for a network element.

See if the network element for which this error occurred is active, and that the node is synced up. To do this, use the selnd command on the CTM machine.

Check whether the correct community strings are used. If this error is noticed for a properly synced up node on an active element, perform the following:

Step 1 Use an SNMP Manager tool to determine whether the switch is responding to SNMP queries.

The SNMP MIB objects to be queried for a particular dialog box can be obtained from the /svplus/log/configserver.log file. Refer to the entries in this log file when this error occurs and perform the following:

a.Using HP-OV SNMP operations, perform a walk (on "system" MIB table for this example, using public community string) as /opt/OV/bin/snmpwalk -c public nodeName system.

b.If an error is seen during the SNMP operations (from the SNMP manager tool), check the switch to verify if this information should really be present. If yes, proceed to step 2.

Step 2 Collect the information from the /svplus/log/configserver.log file when this error occurs. Perform the following:

a.From the configserver.log file, identify the MIB objects that caused the error.

b.Identify the MIB to which these objects belong.

c.Verify whether these MIB objects are supported in this release. If the objects are supported, but still the SNMP agent is not responding for SNMP queries, contact CTM engineers.

Defect Information—Collect the following information for further analysis:

Complete screen snapshots for the investigative commands used for debugging this issue.

Configserver.log.

Related information on the switch.

Possible alternative workaround—None.

J.10.7.2.3 Details, Create, Delete, and Refresh Buttons Are Not Enabled

The Details, Create, Delete, and Refresh buttons are enabled or disabled based on the requirement in the tabular view. These buttons are disabled when a corresponding operation is not supported.

Step 1 Open the /opt/svplus/log/configserver.log file for the MIB.

Step 2 If the Create button is disabled, use any SNMP tool to create the object using the SNMP SET operation.

If the SNMP SET operation passes, contact CTM engineers.
