Software Maintenance

The SpectraLink 8000 Telephony Gateways and the wireless telephones use proprietary software programs written and maintained by Polycom Corporation. The software versions that are running on the system components can be displayed via the System Status screen.

Downloads for the SpectraLink 8000 Telephony Gateway are available from http://www.polycom.com/usa/en/support/voice/wi- fi/spectralink_8000_telephony.html.

Software Updates

After software updates are obtained from Polycom, they must be transferred to the appropriate location in the LAN to update the component code. Three methods of transfer are used: automatic; FTP (File Transfer Protocol); or TFTP (Trivial File Transfer Protocol).

The following table shows which method is used by which SpectraLink 8000 System component:
