Installing a Medium Module

Use the procedure in this section to install a Medium Module in the Secure Router 4134. You can install Medium Modules in slots 5, 6, and 7.

ATTENTION

If you use a Voice Carrier Medium Module with the Secure Router 4134, Nortel recommends you install the Voice Carrier Medium Module in the chassis before installing Small Modules in the Voice Carrier Medium Module.

Procedure steps

Step Action

1Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the slot cover plate from the slot in which you will install the module.

2Align the module with the slot and the slot module guides.

3Slide the module into the chassis until its connector panel touches the chassis back panel.

4Push gently, but firmly, to seat the connector on the interface module in the chassis back panel.

5Ensure the lever on the module is flush with the front panel of the Secure Router 4134.

6Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the two captive screws to secure the module to the chassis.

Installing a Large Module

Use the procedure in this section to install a Large Module in the Secure Router 4134. You can install a Large Module to span slots 6 and 7 only.

1Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the slot cover plates from slots 6 and 7.
