Recommended Number of Tape Uses

Video tape wears during use. Use a new cassette according to Table C.

SERIES RECORDING

You can do series recording by connecting two or more TLR3168 VCRs together. Refer to

Figure 4 for the physical connection.

When the first VCR’s tape reaches its end or a malfunction occurs, the second VCR automatically begins recording.

Series recording cannot be used with timer or emergency recording.

When recording in series, set CALL OUT in the Rear Terminal menu to a mode other than WRNG.

There are two types of series recording. Choose either Series Recording 1 or Series

Recording 2.

Series Recording 1

When the first VCR’s tape reaches its end during recording or a malfunction occurs, the second VCR automatically begins recording.

1.Press the MENU button. The Main menu appears.

2.Turn the JOG dial to select REAR TERMINAL, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The Rear Terminal menu appears.

3.(Perform this step and step 4 on the first VCR only.) When the cursor is next to CALL OUT, turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

4.Turn the JOG dial to select WRNG•TAPE END, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

5.(Perform this step and step 6 on the second VCR only.) Turn the JOG dial to select REC IN, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

6.Turn the JOG dial to select SERIES, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

7.Press the MENU button. The day and time display appears.

Series Recording 2

When the first VCR’s tape reaches its end, the second VCR automatically begins recording. When the second VCR’s tape reaches its end, the first VCR starts recording again. The two keep recording one after the other. Set up both VCR as follows:

1.Perform steps 1 through 6 in the Series Recording section above. Steps 3 through 6 must be done for both the first and second VCR.

2.Turn the SHUTTLE ring left. The Main menu appears.

3.Turn the JOG dial to select CLOCK/FIRST TIME SET UP, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right. The First Time Set Up menu appears.

4.Turn the JOG dial to select TAPE END, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

5.Turn the JOG dial to select REWIND, and then turn the SHUTTLE ring right.

6.Press the MENU button. The day and time display appears.
